While we usually don’t feature chain hotels, the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa in Florence, Alabama is unlike any other from the brand. Located next to the dams of the Tennessee River, the hotel is inspired by the music and people of Muscle Shoals. The contemporary design has the best of everything, from the restaurant to the spa and outdoor pool facility. The hotel also has easy access to nearby golf courses on the Robert Trent Golf Trail.
Rooms come with free WiFi, plush bedding, and private balconies overlooking the pool area or the river. The documentary Muscle Shoals plays on the television to give visitors background information on the rich music history the Alabama towns have. Guests also have access to the on-site gym, spa, and dining. Parking is included with your stay.
The hotel has a few dining options, but the most well known is 360 Grille, a tower above the hotel with a rotating dining room. It serves American favorites and has the best sunset views around. Swampers Bar and Grill is named for the famous band that played backing for many notable artists that recorded here. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this casual option also offers live music.
