Southern Stays is a series in which we will review a property, whether it be a hostel, hotel or other form of accommodation. To suggest a property please leave a comment or email us.
As one of the few independent accommodation options in DeLand, The Deland Hotel is set in a historic building and opened in fall 2017. Built in 1925, the property is decorated in antique furnishings. The lobby has a guest lounge where coffee is set out in the morning and wine in the afternoon. There’s also a hair salon and The Twisted Chopstick, a popular sushi bar.
Guest rooms come in varying sizes and styles, but all have comfortable bedding, closets and drawers, flat screen televisions, and toiletries. Bathrooms have claw foot tubs perfect for soaking. All rooms come equipped with WiFi.
Best of all, it’s a short walk from both the campus of Stetson University and the shops and restaurants of downtown DeLand.
