Southern Stays: Hotel Genevieve

October 28, 2026 By Caroline Eubanks Leave a Comment

Hotel Genevieve opened in 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky, as a 122-room boutique property in the NuLu neighborhood, originally developed and launched by the Texas-based lifestyle hospitality brand Bunkhouse Hotels. It’s now part of Hyatt Hotels but has retained its artsy charm, with bright colors, artwork, and locally crafted details, earning a Michelin Key in 2025. Its name comes from Saint Genevieve limestone, a limestone formation that infuses the state’s water with minerals, making it ideal for bourbon production.

Hotel Genevieve has several floors with city views of NuLu and beyond, in both king and two queen arrangements. Some also have accessible tubs. Two suites offer expanded square footage and living areas. Guest rooms also have Sferra sheets, Kassatex towels, Le Labo toiletries, and cozy robes, along with a coffee maker. Each floor has a water station where you can fill your carafe and get ice. The hotel is also pet-friendly with a $50 fee and highlights the work of regional artists.

The hotel has several dining options, but you can’t miss Bar Genevieve, the rooftop bar and restaurant with antique-inspired decor, lush plants, craft bourbon cocktails, and the best views of the city. The bar has shared bites like sliders and salads, with a popular happy hour that includes oysters and sparkling wine.

Back downstairs, the yellow-hued Mini Marché is your go-to market with coffee, grab-and-go sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, pastries, souvenirs, and other essentials. Once the sun goes down, head around the corner to Jimmy Can’t Dance, a jewel-box cocktail and jazz bar open Wednesday to Saturday nights.

Tips for Staying at Hotel Genevieve

Hotel Genevieve is located at 730 E Market St, Louisville, Kentucky, 40202. Rates start around $250 per night. Valet parking is available for $25 per day, but you also might be able to find street parking in the neighborhood. Book your stay by visiting the website or by calling (502) 676-7199.
