Southern Stays: Glass Light Hotel

Located in the heart of Norfolk, Virginia, the Glass Light Hotel is set inside a 1912 building. It has retained some of its original features like the mail chute that runs alongside the elevator bank. The lobby also serves as an art gallery with a pink glass bunny from a nearby studio.

The AAA Four-Diamond hotel has 113 rooms and suites and is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The rooms with artwork from Peter Bremers and Lino Tagliapietra overlook the harbor and have amenities like Illy coffee makers, Nest toiletries, and curated mini bar snacks with wine, water, and candy.

Room arrangements include one king, two queens, junior suite, and suite options. All come with the finest Frette bedding. Guests can take advantage of the on-site fitness center, which has treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes.

The downstairs restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. The menu includes local seafood like oysters, seared tuna, and flounder. The hotel is also a short walk from the city’s best restaurants and attractions.
