Southern Stays: L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles

L’Auberge Lake Charles

If you’ve ever stayed at a casino, I can tell you that staying at L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles is nothing like that. Gone are the smoky hallways and darkened rooms lit only by neon. Above all else, this property is a luxury resort, earning AAA’s prestigious Four Diamond award.

The casino is located outside of Lake Charles proper, next door to the Golden Nugget. The two are linked by a waterfront boardwalk and a shuttle bus so that guests can go between the two for gambling, dining, and nightlife.

The lakefront resort is twenty-six stories tall and has over 1,000 rooms, suites, and private villas, some of which have their own courtyards. Rooms are lavish in size and include plush linens, seating areas, flat-screen televisions, mini-fridges, and in-room coffee makers. Bathrooms have luxury toiletries and vanity space.

Gaming at L’Auberge Lake Charles

The casino floor is located in the center of the hotel, so you never have to walk through it to get to your room, to restaurants, or elsewhere in L’Auberge. This is especially important since you can’t cross into the casino without identification proving you are at least 21 years of age.

Inside, there are over seventy Vegas-style table games and 1,600 slot machines. High rollers can enjoy the High Limit Salon and a private lounge for frequent guests.

In addition to the half dozen shops in the casino, L’Auberge also boasts dining options. Ember Grille and Wine Bar is the area’s top steakhouse, featuring warm interiors and top-notch cocktails. The L Bar resembles a 1920s lounge, while Jack Daniel’s Bar and Grill carries a large selection of craft beer. Le Beaucoup Buffet, Asia, Favorites, and Southern Kitchen are other options.

Even if you aren’t much of a gambler, L’Auberge has opportunities for relaxation. The large outdoor pool has a lazy river, adults-only area, and lazy river. The Spa du Lac offers massages, manicures, soaks, and scrubs. You can also tee off at the golf course located on property. And don’t miss the concerts held at the resort!
