The Omni Homestead Resort is a historic and luxurious resort located in the rural mountain community of Hot Springs, Virginia. The resort’s history can be traced back to 1766 when Thomas Bullitt built a lodge near the hot springs in the Allegheny Mountains of Virginia. It continued to grow through various owners until the late 1800s, when a group of investors, including J.P. Morgan, raised $1 million to build a modern resort.

The iconic tower was built in 1929 and remains a beacon, welcoming visitors. Since 2013, it’s been part of the Omni Hotels & Resorts family, offering the amenities members have come to love.

All rooms are nonsmoking and include king and double beds equipped with cozy bathrobes and coffee makers. Some even have private balconies, fireplaces, and dining areas.

The Omni Homestead Resort has a large variety of dining experiences to choose from. The American Audubon Dining Room is the most upscale, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and reservations and following the dress code are recommended.

Jefferson’s Restaurant is a casual sports bar-type restaurant with an even more laid-back taproom side, both offering sandwiches and burgers. Woody’s takes its name from a longtime employee and offers Italian sandwiches and pizzas.

Pioneer Picnic is ideal for a bite to go, where you can pick up a sandwich to bring with you on a hike or just back to your room. Martha’s Market has daily coffee and snacks as well if you’re in a hurry. Rubino’s at The Cascades is open for breakfast and lunch seasonally.

The Presidential Lounge is the lobby cocktail bar, where you can sip an Old Fashioned amongst the portraits of the leaders who have visited the property.

The resort is renowned for its golf courses, including the Cascades Course, which is consistently ranked among the top golf courses in the United States. There’s also the Old Course, one of the oldest in the United States.

Younger visitors can also enjoy the Mini Cascades, a miniature golf course, the seasonal water park, and play at the indoor arcade. The resort also offers golf, tennis, horseback riding, hiking, sporting clays, archery, and mountain biking.

The hot springs in the area are a significant attraction. The resort has indoor and outdoor hot spring-fed pools, allowing guests to experience the therapeutic benefits of the natural mineral springs. The onsite spa also uses this thermal water in its indoor and outdoor pools. There’s also a fitness center.

During the winter months, enjoy the mountaintop ski resort or the warm fire and hearty fare at Kober’s at the Mountain Lodge. The Virginia Wine Experience is another must-do, which highlights the state’s centuries-old wine industry with flights and tastings. A historic theater is also open for movies and special events.
