Located near Cashiers in the mountains of North Carolina, the town of Highlands has less than 1,000 full-time residents. The surrounding state and national parks are popular with visitors, especially the winding drives ideal for motorcycle enthusiasts.
This particular photo was taken from Dry Falls, also known as Upper Cullasaja Falls, located in the Nantahala National Forest. It is part of an 8 mile network of waterfalls that ends with the stunning Cullasaja Falls. Visitors can walk under the bluff and falls for a different viewpoint.
