Southern Stays: Merry Acres Inn

Merry Acres Inn

If there’s a hub of social activity in Albany, Georgia, it’s Merry Acres Inn. Not only is it one of the few, independent accommodation options in the area, but it’s also a local hangout. Built in 1952, this motel-style inn features rooms with exterior entrances surrounding the Manor House Pub, pool, and other amenities.

Staying at Merry Acres Inn

It’s located two miles from downtown Albany‘s attractions and the owners also have a number of area restaurants that they offer shuttle services to nightly. They have a popular happy hour, which guests are always invited to, as well as breakfast daily.

I’ve had the pleasure of staying at Merry Acres twice on two separate visits to Albany and slept well both times. Rooms are large and include comfortable beds, phones, alarm clocks with iPhone docks, a desk to work from, a television, coffee maker, microwave, closet, and large bathroom.

Larger rooms have a pull-out couch and there is also the presidential suite and the Paula Deen Cottage for larger parties. Guests also have access to the inn’s pool, fitness center, laundry facilities, business center, and room service.

It’s the ideal base for your trip to Albany, whether it’s for business or pleasure.

Tips for Staying at Merry Acres Inn

Merry Acres Inn, 1500 Dawson Road, Albany, Georgia 31707. Rates start at $99 per room per night and go up for larger rooms. Parking and WiFi are included with your stay, along with breakfast and shuttle services. Book your stay by calling (229) 435-7721 or visiting their website.

Both of my stays at Merry Acres Inn have been hosted by Visit Albany with assistance from Explore Georgia.
