Entrance to Omni Hilton Head

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina is a beloved getaway for families seeking beach time, golfers, and couples in search of a quiet weekend. The island itself is nestled between Charleston and Savannah, but the closest town is Bluffton on the mainland.

The area is full of resorts, including The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort properties, but the Omni incorporates both family-friendly experiences and romantic ones as well.

Guest Rooms at the Omni Hilton Head Island Resort

Oceanfront Room

I stayed in a king bed studio suite facing the ocean, which included a large bed, television, pull-out couch, private balcony overlooking the pool, and kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker, mini-fridge, and essentials like silverware and glasses. It was over 500 square feet, so very comfortable in terms of space, and rooms are pet-friendly.

It incorporated the best of a hotel room with the amenities of a condo, allowing you to store snacks and simple meals. The room also has a large flat-screen television for cozying up to a movie. Other rooms include two-bedroom studios.

The bathroom had two sinks, ideal for multiple people getting ready, as well as a large shower and closet with their plush bathrobes, an amenity that is hard to come by these days.

Amenities at the Omni Hilton Head Island Resort

  • Resort Pools
  • Beach Access

Omni Hilton Head also has a recently renovated area with three pools, including one just for adults. There’s direct beach access, bikes for rent, a giant chessboard, and a fire pit. As with other Omni properties, WiFi is free for members of their free loyalty program.

It’s easy to pamper yourself at the resort, which has the Ocean Tides Spa, offering facials, massages, and salon treatments. Keep yourself in shape with the top-of-the-line gym, with a bar, treadmills, ellipticals, and free weights.

The nearby golf course has been ranked as one of the top in the country and is available for guest use. The resort also has access to tennis courts and a river for kayaking and canoeing, as well as the island’s miles of bike trails.

The newly renovated lobby is bright and modern, incorporating the colors of the beach. When the renovations of the room are completed, they’ll have a similar theme. Omni Hilton Head has on-site restaurants, including the highly-rated HH Prime.

For more casual dining, try Palmetto Market or the Buoy Bar. The XO Lounge is open seasonally but is named one of the best hotel bars in the area. Outside of the resort, enjoy dining at Lucky Rooster Kitchen & Bar and NEO HHI.

Tips for Staying at the Omni Hilton Head Island Resort

The Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort is located at 23 Ocean Lane, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29928. To make a reservation, see their website or call (843) 842-8000. Rates start at $250 per night and include onsite parking. Valet parking is available for $18 per night.

My stay at the Omni Hilton Head Island Resort was hosted, but all opinions are my own.
