Where to Watch Baseball Spring Training in Florida

March 29, 2021 By Caroline Eubanks Leave a Comment

Baseball fans know that the season is upon us when spring training starts. Major League Baseball teams spend the spring months in warmer climates, either in Florida or Arizona. The tradition dates back to 1886 in Hot Springs, Arkansas of all places.

The Florida teams, or what’s referred to as the Grapefruit League, have been playing in the state for generations. In fact, St. Petersburg and Tampa have hosted spring training for nearly 90 years.

During a “normal” year, fans would be able to watch these practice games to get a sense of the players and what the upcoming season will be like. It’s also a nice way to vacation around your favorite team.
