How to Plan a Boat Pub Crawl at Walt Disney World Resort

Similar to the Monorail Pub Crawl that you can take part in between the Magic Kingdom area resorts, it’s also possible to do another version between the resorts near Disney Springs, where you can park for free. It’s slightly more difficult because there’s no track like the Monorail, but it allows you to see other Walt Disney World resorts.

Port Orleans Resort French Quarter and Riverside, Old Key West Resort, and Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa have access to the boats. So you can use Disney Springs as a hub to explore these areas, sipping a cocktail along the way. It’s also a nice alternative to the long lines for the Amphicars!

WDW Focus has the best transportation map for Walt Disney World, which we used to plan our boat pub crawl.

Start your crawl at the furthest afield at Port Orleans Riverside. You can either make a loop by starting at Disney Springs and taking the Purple Flag boat or access the resort from any of the theme parks by bus.

This resort is inspired by the waterways that surround the Big Easy, with an island in the middle of the river and countless activities to enjoy. There are some other places to get drinks, including the pool bar, but River Roost is an essential stop for charcuterie and shared snacks, classic cocktails from New Orleans and beyond, and Abita beer.

What to Drink: What else, but the Sazerac, the official drink of New Orleans!

From here, you can head to the sister resort by hopping back on the boat or by taking one of the walking paths between the two. The trail follows the Sassagoula River and should take around 10 minutes.

As you might have guessed, this resort focuses its attention on the heart of New Orleans: the French Quarter. Decor is inspired by Mardi Gras and its lively music scene. Scat Cat’s Club is a favorite for live music as well as delicious bites like beignets and po boys.

What to Drink: The Southern Hurricane is Disney’s take on the Pat O’Brien classic, made with rum and assorted fruit juices.

Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa

Unfortunately, you can’t (yet) connect between Port Orleans and the other two, so instead it makes the most sense to go back to the Marketplace to catch another boat to Saratoga Springs. If you’re looking to save time, you can also Uber (or a Minnie Van) between the two.

Again, the sprawling Saratoga Springs Resort has plenty of food and drink outlets, but the Turf Club Lounge feels like the type of place where you might expect to mingle amongst horse owners. Chow down on the burger, snacks, and classic cocktails.

What to Drink: The Whiskey Breeze combines Kentucky bourbon with tropical flavors, making it the perfect mix of equestrian vibes in a Florida setting.

Old Key West Resort

From Saratoga Springs, you can either take the boat back to Marketplace at Disney Springs and then catch a Green Flag boat to Old Key West or walk between the two, which should take around 20 minutes. It will take you down the Saratoga Springs Nature Path and past the golf course.

The pastel-hued colors of the Victorian-style buildings transport you to the Florida Keys. The Disney Vacation Club resort is home to the Gurgling Suitcase, a small bar with a handful of seats and license plates covering the walls. Enjoy the conch fritters with your cocktail.

What to Drink: Sip on Duval Street favorites like the Turtle Krawl, made with three types of rum and Key lime juice.
