Set in a ramshackle building on Piedmont Road, Fat Matt’s Rib Shack is a classic Atlanta eatery. It’s been cited in the film Up in the Air and hosts live blues music nightly. Open since 1990 in a different time for the city, it’s not uncommon to see a line wrapped around the door.
Obviously, ribs are the main attraction at Fat Matt’s, which you can order in a rack or on a rib sandwich. You can choose from chicken or pork. The sides are as important as the ribs, especially the mac and cheese, collard greens, and pie for dessert. It’s a great place to eat (and fill up!) for under $10.
