Established in 1931 in downtown Blairsville, Georgia, Hole in the Wall is one of the region’s most beloved eateries. For a time, it even operated as the Trailways Bus Station, selling tickets along with meals as well as a dentist’s office. The original flooring remains in the upstairs dining room. The current owners took over in 2006, carrying on the tradition.

Inspired by Southern family recipes, the restaurant is open for breakfast all day. The Moonshiner Special is a favorite, including eggs, bacon or sausage, and a choice of biscuits and gravy, French toast, or pancakes. The Eggs Benedict and burgers are also delicious. They also have special weekend dinners, serving prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights, and top-notch pies.

They serve bottomless coffee in mugs sponsored by a local business and have a large group of regular customers. They only accept cash or check so come prepared. There’s also an ATM nearby. Be prepared to wait on weekends, especially mid-morning.
