Coal Miner’s Daughter is based on the life of country western icon Loretta Lynn, who grew up in coal country and was married by the age of 13. She became a mother of four by the age of 20, but always had a dream of becoming a singer. The film, starring Sissy Spacek and Tommy Lee Jones, tracks the path from small town life to stardom. Specific scenes were filmed at the famous Ryman Auditorium.
