The Oscar-winning film Django Unchained has been named one of director Quentin Tarantino’s best works, starring Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz and Kerry Washington.
In this play on the spaghetti western, a freed slave in the antebellum South seeks out a German bounty hunter to save his wife from the clutches of an evil plantation owner in rural Mississippi.
You can expect Tarantino’s usual amount of violence in this film as in his others. There has been some controversy over the use of racial slurs and violence towards women in Django Unchained, but it is probably best to see the movie and decide for yourself.
Filmed In: Edgard and New Orleans, Louisiana; Additional scenes filmed in Wyoming and California. Evergreen Plantation served in Edgard served as the slave owner’s home.
