The Peach State has plenty of gas stations along busy byways like I-75 and I-95, as well as lesser-traveled roads like US-41 and Coastal Highway 17. Georgia’s fuel-stop eateries have a little bit of everything, but the biscuits and fried chicken are among the best. Don’t forget about Parker’s, a regional chain from Savannah known for its chicken, and Taqueria Taquito Express, with traditional Mexican fare inside gas stations around Atlanta.

Biscuit Basket, Athens
Residents of this college town flock to the Chevron in the Boulevard neighborhood for the fluffy Southern biscuits lovingly wrapped in foil. They come filled with eggs, cheese, and your choice of meat like bacon, bologna, sausage, and ham. Level up with a side of pepper gravy or creamy grits. If you missed breakfast, you can enjoy chicken tenders and corn dogs.
Felicia’s Snack Shack, Monroe
The biscuits are the draw at this Marathon gas station in Monroe. Felicia’s offers them with the usual options, like sausage, bacon, ham, or egg. But you can also add in Spam and Streak-o-lean, also known as salt pork. At lunch, enjoy “meat and three” specials along with burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches.
Marietta Donuts, Marietta
It’s easy to drive past this Shell station in suburban Atlanta without noticing it. But this donut shop, opened by a native of Cambodia, is a delightful addition to the area. The yeast doughnuts come with a variety of toppings like icing and sprinkles. The shop also sells apple fritters and kolaches, the savory Czech pastries popular in Texas.
Minit Saver, Marietta
The Minit Saver is a reminder of a past Marietta, set inside a Sunoco station. As you’d imagine, the store stocks the standard convenience store items, but also has a hot foods counter with Formica tables where you can sit. The biscuits go quickly, so go early.
Mt. Paran Country Store, Atlanta

Built in 1907, the rustic country store is a reminder of a bygone era in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. Work crews show up early to get their breakfast at the wooden building while residents come with their pets and kids. The deli setup has biscuits in the morning, warmed by a heat lamp, and barbecue and burgers in the afternoon. The resident chickens roam in front of the gas pumps. Chow down at one of the picnic tables or spread out at Chastain Park, a few blocks away.
NFA Burger, Dunwoody
The burger brand inside a Chevron station has a cult-like following in Atlanta, where locals line up for a taste. Originally founded as Billy’s Burgers, NFA Burger has been named one of the best in the city. The beef burgers come on the classic Martin’s potato roll with pickles, American cheese, mustard, and Sassy Sauce. Add on turkey chili, bacon, or a Belgian waffle bun. The menu also has hot dogs, tater tots, ice cream, and kid-friendly bites.
Sunrise Grocery, Blairsville
Start the day at this 1920s general store in the North Georgia Mountains. It may only have a few old-school gas pumps, but they are still operational, fueling the motorcycles that stop before navigating the winding roads. Sunrise Grocery was rumored to have bootlegging ties during Prohibition. These days, you’ll find everything you need for a stay in the area, including homemade soaps, honey, and local produce. But the boiled peanuts are the most popular option, cooked in a giant pot outside. Go early before they run out!
TDT BBQ, Mableton
The Shell station barbecue spot near the Silver Comet Trail is the perfect place to fuel up before a long ride. Go for the fall-off-the-bone barbecue ribs, smoked chicken, brisket, and smoked sausage with classic sides like macaroni and cheese and Brunswick stew. Be sure to go early before they run out for the day!
Wings R Us, Atlanta
Set in an unassuming Shell station in Atlanta’s historic Castleberry Hill neighborhood is the appropriately named Wings R Us. The main draw is the buffalo wings, which go from plain to nuclear extra-hot. Teriyaki and lemon pepper are other options. The menu also includes fried fish, chicken tenders, and Philly cheesesteaks, along with Chinese-American favorites like fried rice and egg rolls.
