The Holston House Hotel is the second-oldest hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, second only to the famed Hermitage Hotel, just a short walk away. The site of a former radio station and World War II housing, it opened in the 1920s on the day of the Stock Market Crash. The Art Deco beauty retains several of its original features, including the Tennessee pink marble in the lobby. It underwent an entire renovation in 2017 and is steps away from the Ryman Auditorium.

The Holston House offers 191 pet-friendly guest rooms, including a presidential suite, where guests have balconies and dining space in the former hotel owner’s apartment. The standard guest rooms include traditional amenities like a coffee maker, as well as a record player on request. Guest floors are accessed by an elevator that plays music from Nashville artists, keeping the Music City vibes going at all times.

Eating and Drinking at the Holston House Hotel

Holston House is home to TENN, its signature restaurant open during the day. For breakfast, you can enjoy biscuits and gravy with local coffee. At night, head to Bar TENN, with its original ceilings, small plates, and extensive Tennessee whiskey lineup, to end the night.

The lobby also hosts Vinyl and Chill, a daily toast and cocktail inspired by the surroundings. Heirloom, the poolside lounge, is open seasonally for flatbread and salads, plus frozen drinks and tropical sips.

The heated rooftop pool is perhaps the best amenity for summer visitors, also available for day passes for non-guests, and overlooking downtown. The gift shop has a nice selection of local souvenirs and snacks. The fitness center has all the bells and whistles, including Peloton bikes.
