In case you haven’t figured it out already, if you’re visiting Universal Orlando Resort, your best bet is to stay at one of the onsite Universal hotels.

Not only will you be closest to the action, but you can take advantage of early park entry, transportation, and, in the case of Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, free express passes.

It’s the highest tier of the onsite hotels and it shows. The luxurious property takes its inspiration from Italy.

Be sure to get your Universal 2-Day Park-to-Park Ticket – Plus Extra Day before you leave for your trip.

Portofino Bay boasts 750 guest rooms, including 45 suites, spread across multiple buildings. It can be a bit confusing at first, but they’re all set around the pools and harbor.

Rooms come with luxurious amenities like flat-screen televisions, coffee-making facilities, bathrobes, and bathtubs. They also have complimentary WiFi.

Amenities at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

Portofino Bay has the best amenities, including three swimming pools with a water slide. The piazza hosts live music and is where the boats to the parks leave from.

Treat yourself at the Mandara Spa and fitness center or bring the kids to the activity center. There is plenty of meeting space, a business center, and guest access to a nearby golf course.

Then, of course, there are 8 restaurants and bars, including Starbucks, Mama Della’s, Bice Ristorante, and Trattoria del Porto. There’s gelato, pizza, and Italian fare.

Bars like The Thirsty Fish and Bar American also have light bites. Portofino Bay also has shops where you can pick up the same souvenirs as in the parks.

Tips for Staying at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

Loews Portofino Bay is located at 5601 Universal Boulevard, Orlando, Florida 32819. Rates start around $400 per night.

Valet parking is $29 per night, and self-parking is $22 per night. Book your stay by visiting their website or calling 1-888-430-4999.
