The town of Adairsville, Georgia is around one hour north of Atlanta and has a population of around 4,000 people. Route 41 was originally the main road until I-75 was built. Originally a Cherokee village, the town became a railroad stop in the 1800s.
It had a Civil War battle called the Battle of Adairsville, a part of Sherman’s campaign. Today the town is home to Barnsley Resort, a luxury resort and spa. The historic downtown previously had a number of shops and restaurants, but now is limited to a historical museum, an antique store and one restaurant.
