The town of Buena Vista, Georgia, located southwest of Atlanta, is home to less than 2,500 residents. Originally named Pea Ridge, the town was settled in 1830 and renamed after Zachary Taylor’s victory in the Mexican-American War.
Most visitors come for Pasaquan, the former home of visionary artist St. EOM, but the downtown also has a few shops, restaurants, and an inn. There are also a number of historic buildings. Buena Vista is recognized as the town of baseball legends Josh Gibson and Roosevelt Jackson.
