I visited Columbus, Georgia to see a family member’s graduation at Fort Benning, an Army base that trains the Rangers, some of the country’s most decorated soldiers. The city has less than 200,000 residents, half of which are stationed on the base. Many military movies have also been filmed in Columbus and on the base.
