Located inland from the Grand Strand of South Carolina, Conway is a historic town of around 20,000 residents. Settled in 1732 as “Kingston,” Conway is now home to Coastal Carolina University, one of the state’s larger public universities. The City Hall was designed by Robert Mills, who designed the Washington Monument. The Waccamaw River cuts through town and is an important part of the region. The historic downtown has a number of shops, restaurants and even a history museum.
