Franklin, Tennessee, located 30 minutes from Nashville, is a small town that’s getting a lot of buzz. It has a population of around 70,000 people and recently became the headquarters of travel guidebook brand Lonely Planet.
The city was founded in 1799 and today has a historic downtown area with many bars, restaurants and shops. The Franklin Theatre, pictured above, plays both new and cult classic films and was the site of movie premieres for Friday Night Lights and Elizabethtown.
