During my trip through Georgia’s Lake Country, my group stopped in the small town of Jefferson, Georgia to visit the Shields Ethridge Heritage Farm, a well preserved farm from the 1930s. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has won countless awards for the preservation efforts. They have an iPhone app that guides you around the property and have a festival called Mule Days that brings in locals every year.
