Newnan, Georgia was established in 1828 as the county seat of Coweta County. It was the site of a Confederate hospital during the Civil War and still contains many antebellum structures. The shops and restaurants of downtown are set around the square with the Coweta County Courthouse placed in the middle. More recently, movies like Zombieland, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, and Joyful Noise have been filmed here.
