Blink and you might miss the small South Georgia town of Parrott. The town of less than 200 people has a small downtown area with a few antique shops and restaurants. Actress Joanna Moore, mother of Tatum O’Neal, called the town home.
The Creek Indians were the first to settle here, followed by the Europeans, who incorporated the town in the 1800s and changed the name to honor John Lawson Parrott, the man who donated the land.
