I never would have found myself in this town 30 minutes outside of Columbia, South Carolina, had it not been for the summer camp I attended for most of my youth.
It was always exciting to pass through the small town, across the railroad tracks, past the big white mansion, past the water tower you see above and past the abandoned school building because you knew you were getting close. Ridgeway, SC is also home to the supposed world’s smallest police station.
