Located on Florida’s Treasure Coast between Kennedy Space Center and West Palm Beach, you’ll find the laid back city of Sebastian. The welcome signs warn it’s a town of “friendly people and six old grouches,” but after spending time in this coastal city, you’ll be hard-pressed to find so much as a frown.
Situated alongside the Indian River Lagoon, there are plenty of activities for the adventure seeker and sunbather alike. Sebastian is home to ocean view skydiving as well as plenty of land and water activities.
While you’re fishing, kayaking or paddleboarding at Sebastian Inlet State Park, don’t be surprised if you spot dolphins or even manatees! Along the lagoon, you’ll also find plenty of restaurants and beach bars, this waterfront area is easy to visit on bike!
Riverside Park, a gorgeous park that overlooks Indian River Lagoon hosts community events and festivals year-round. Across from the park you’ll find Sebastian’s only brewery, Pareidolia Brewing Co., and a locally owned ice-cream shop, Paradise Ice Cream.
What this town lacks in shopping centers and traffic, it makes up for in festivals! Popular events include the Sebastian Clambake Festival, the Grant Seafood Festival, the Grant BBQ Festival, the Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival, and the ShrimpFest and Craft Brew Hullabaloo.
