Tunica, Mississippi is a town of less than 2,000 people south of Memphis, Tennessee. Formerly known as one of the poorest parts of the United States, Tunica has been completely changed thanks to the rise of the gaming industry in 1990.
There is a small downtown area, which is home to a few shops and restaurants as well as some Blues Trail markers. There’s also the area nearby known as Tunica Resorts, formerly Robinsonville, where the casinos and resorts are located.
