The Amelia Schoolhouse Inn is located in Fernandina Beach in Amelia Island, Florida and opened to guests in 2017 after years as an office building.
As the name implies, this stylish inn is located in a historic schoolhouse dating back to 1886, designed by Robert Sands Schuyler. He was the architect behind many of Fernandina’s buildings like the Fairbanks and Tabby houses.

The two-story building was completely restored, taking care of the brick and heart of pine floors. There are 17 guest rooms of varying sizes, all decorated in chic details inspired by the school surroundings.
Every room has cute details like globes and mini-fridges as well as a desk, bathrobes, and toiletries. A flat-screen television is connected with local cable as well as Netflix and other streaming services.
Desk Bathroom
Amelia Schoolhouse Inn offers complimentary daily breakfast of pastries and coffee. The in house bar, appropriately named The Principal’s Office, has daily happy hour. Their menu includes local beer, wine, and craft cocktails.
Upstairs you’ll find a coffee maker, kettle, and ice machine that you can access 24/7. The inn also has a seasonal outdoor pool and a courtyard with a putting green. They also have free bike rentals for you to explore the island on your own.

The hotel, which is a part of Southern Living’s Hotel Collection, is less than two blocks from some of the island’s best restaurants and shops, so you’re never far away from a good meal.
