Southern Stays: Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Cabana Bay Beach Resort

When looking for a place to stay onsite at Universal Orlando Resort, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with options. There are half a dozen properties within the park and many more close by.

Cabana Bay Beach Resort is one of the most budget-friendly of the Universal properties. It’s also a favorite of families for its amenities, room styles, and funky mid-century modern designs. The property is also only 20 minutes from the Orlando airport, depending on traffic.

Rooms at Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Standard rooms have two queen beds, a flat-screen television, coffee maker, mini-fridge, and in-room free WiFi. They’re designed with colorful furnishings inspired by the 1970s.

Family suites and two-bedroom suites are made for bigger groups and the layout differs. These rooms have kitchenettes for making your own meals as well as a living room with a pull-out sofa and the amenities offered by standard rooms. Some overlook the pool, while others have courtyard access.

Eating at Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Bayliner DIner

Cabana Bay has a number of dining outlets for guests. Bayliner Diner is a food court with pizza, salad, and other options. Galaxy Bowl and The Hideaway poolside bar also have food menus. They also have a Starbucks, gift shop, and a few poolside bars.

You can purchase souvenir cups like the ones pictured for discounted drinks throughout your stay. If you want to save money, I recommend bringing cereal and making tea or coffee in your room before hitting the parks. You can also have pizza delivered to your room!

What makes Cabana Bay so unique is its facilities. What other resort has two pools, a bowling alley, and an arcade? A laundry room and gym are also available for guest use. The lazy river and children’s programming are also favorites.

Its location is perhaps the best amenity, as you can take the free shuttle or walk the garden route to CityWalk and then the park gates. It’s also right next door to Volcano Bay water park. Guests get access to the parks one hour before the general public.

Be sure to get your Universal 2-Day Park-to-Park Ticket – Plus Extra Day before you leave for your trip.

Tips for Staying at Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is located at Universal Orlando Resort, 6550 Adventure Way, Orlando, Florida 32819. Rates start at around $129 per night during the low season. Book your stay by calling (407) 503-4000 or through their website.

I received a discounted rate for my stay at Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
