Pursell Farms is a resort on 3,200 acres located outside of Birmingham, Alabama. Founded in 1904 as Sylacauga Fertilizer Company, the family-run company went on to become Pursell Technologies, which worked with the agriculture business.
The family farm opened the golf course in 2002 and later welcomed corporate retreats. The Inn opened in 2018 near the site of Historic Talladega Springs Resort, which operated from 1830 to 1921 and laid the groundwork for what the farm would become. Pursell also gives 10% of its profits to charity.
Rooms at Pursell Farms

The Inn at Pursell Farms has 40 rooms with decor modeled after an English country home. Rooms come with coffee makers and bathrobes, while some have bathtubs and balconies overlooking the golf course.
The hallways around the inn have historic photos of the area including a resort that once sat nearby. There are also four-bedroom cottages and cabins on the property, with four bedrooms, as well as the Orvis FarmHouse and the Parker Lodge.
Dining at Pursell Farms
Old Tom’s Arrington
Pursell Farms has an incredible culinary staff across two restaurants. Arrington is the property’s upscale dining establishment, open for breakfast and dinner. Old Tom’s Pub is a casual gastropub, open for lunch and dinner. Both have a full bar with craft beer and wine.
The latter has a pool table that belonged to Jim Nabors, a family friend that was known for his role on the Andy Griffith Show and Gomer Pyle USMC. The golf clubhouse also has a cafe with sandwiches and other light bites.
