Originally opened in 1925, the Redmont Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama re-opened and was completely renovated in 2016 for future generations of visitors to enjoy. The oldest hotel in the city, it was ahead of its time with private baths, chilled water, and ceiling fans to protect from the Southern humidity.
Celebrities like Hank Williams and Kareem Abdul-Jabar stayed here and in 1983, the building was named a landmark by the National Register of Historic Places. Now a part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, guests can enjoy the benefits of being a part of a chain and membership program with the unique experiences of a boutique hotel.
Rooms at The Redmont Hotel
The entire property features unique vintage touches like lamps made from antique fire extinguishers or the hotel’s original crest on sconces. Guest rooms, 120 in total, are decorated in modern styles with views of the city as well as complimentary WiFi, work desk, flat-screen television, iPhone dock, and a coffeemaker.
Room styles include king, double beds, and suites. The hotel also has meeting and event rooms, fitness center, a coffee shop serving Revelator brews, and Harvest, their in-house restaurant and bar. Their rooftop bar is also open seasonally.
If you’re visiting Birmingham, The Redmont Hotel is in the middle of the action in the Central City. You’re a few blocks away from the Birmingham Museum of Art, Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, and Railroad Park. You can be there in even less time by borrowing a Zyp bike or Uber. Bars and restaurants are also nearby, including The Collins Bar and Paramount.

Parking is $22 per day for valet and while they don’t have official self-parking, you can park in the exact same lot as the valet, right across the street, for only $10 per day.
