Blowing Rock, North Carolina is a short drive from both Boone and Valle Crucis, the sites of previous Small Town Saturdays. It was home to the Cherokee and Catawba Native American tribes before the settlement of Christian missionaries in the 1700s. Today the population is around 2,000 residents and it is home to the Blowing Rock Observation Deck, Tweetsie Railroad, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
