Located outside of Alpine Helen, Unicoi State Park and Lodge is one of the Adventure Lodges of Georgia, which offers countless activities for outdoors enthusiasts.
Made up of over 1,000 acres in North Georgia, Unicoi is the perfect base for adventures to nearby towns like Dahlonega and Sautee-Nacoochee. The facility is also pet-friendly.
Accommodations at Unicoi State Park

There’s an accommodation option for every type of traveler. The lodge has 100 hotel-style rooms, pictured above, that includes park entry, WiFi, and coffee makers.
There are also 30 cabins, including the barrel cabins, below, the Smith Creek Cabins, and the Deluxe Cabins, all of which come with cooking facilities and multiple bedroom options.
Adventurous travelers can stay at one of 82 campsites, including 51 RV sites. The Squirrel’s Nest is their primitive campsite.

The lodge is the hub of all activity with the meeting rooms, Smith Creek Tavern, Unicoi Restaurant, and the Adventure Shop. Here you can pick up camping essentials or book a ziplining excursion. I recommend skipping the restaurant in favor of those in town.
Other activities beyond hiking include paddleboarding, guided kayaking, archery, fly fishing, and mountain biking. Unicoi also has a GoPro class.
