After writing guides for countless publications about Nashville, including the best places to stay around the city, it became time for our own guide to accommodations. There is a large diversity in the types and prices of properties spanning every loyalty program.
We’ve denoted which ones are our picks and which ones come highly recommended on travel websites so that you can be sure that you’re staying in the best place.
We occasionally accept complimentary accommodations in exchange for a review to offset costs but write honestly about our experiences.
Accommodation Type
Don’t limit yourself to just one type of accommodation!
Nashville Hotels

Looking for a Nashville hotel? Look no further. In this city, you’ll find a little bit of everything, from the chains in all corners of the city to stylish boutique brands.
Hotels are the preferred type of accommodation for visitors to the city due to the abundance of options and relatively cheap prices. Shop around on multiple websites, but we prefer Booking.com and Hotels.com.
Nashville Inns and B&Bs

There are a handful of bed and breakfasts in town like Brentwood Bed & Breakfast, near neighborhoods like Brentwood, Green Hills, and Franklin.
Other inns exist near Belmont University and even 12 South like Belmont Boulevard Bed & Breakfast, Urban Cowboy Bed and Breakfast, and Daisy Hill Bed and Breakfast.
Nashville Airbnbs and Rentals

Airbnb has a large presence in the greater Nashville area with a wide range of accommodations. Expect to find everything from bungalows to cabins to treehouses. For a discount on your first stay, use our link.
There are also locally owned rentals like Hillsboro Haven. No matter where you stay, all short-term rentals must have a license, usually displayed or on their listing page.
Looking for recommendations? We stayed in this cute 12 South Guest Suite and my friend Kristin has these long-term options in Vanderbilt and Music Row.
Nashville Hostels

Nashville also has budget accommodations. Nashville Downtown Hostel, pictured, is in the heart of downtown with room for 300 guests in its bunks and private rooms. Amenities include free WiFi, tea and coffee, and lockers.
Music City Hostel is their sister hostel in the Midtown neighborhood near Vanderbilt. It has dorms and private rooms as well as independent vacation rentals. Guests have access to the kitchen, grill, and laundry.
Camping in Nashville
Nashville’s surrounding communities have campsites with easy access to the city. Safe Harbor RV Resort is right on a lake with a marina, full hookup sites, and WiFi. Nashville KOA Resort has sites for RVs and tents.
Nashville Neighborhoods
Most visitors stay around Broadway and downtown, which is where the majority of the hotels are located. But there are plenty of other areas to explore.
Broadway

Broadway is the heart of Nashville, where the honky-tonks and country music landmarks are located. Here you can tour the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Ryman Auditorium, and the Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline museums. The Frist Center for The Visual Arts is also nearby.
Shop for concert posters at Hatch Show Print or browse the vinyl at Ernest Tubbs Record Shop. Catch a show at old venues like Robert’s Western World or Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge.
This area also has plenty of restaurants. The Farmhouse, Puckett’s Grocery, and Acme Feed & Seed are a few favorites.
Hillsboro Village and 12 South

Hillsboro Village is a bohemian area with student-friendly shops and restaurants while 12 South has trendy boutiques like Nashville native Reese Witherspoon’s Draper James. White’s Mercantile is owned by Hank Williams Jr’s granddaughter Holly and features home furnishings and gifts.
Popular eateries include Proper Bagel, which has freshly made bagels topped with traditional items like lox and cream cheese or avocado and hummus. Five Daughters Bakery has popular “cronuts” and other pastries.
The Gulch

Formerly an industrial area, The Gulch is now one of the most popular neighborhoods for visitors, especially the brunch crowd and mural lovers. Browse for vinyl at Third Man Records, a store owned by Jack White.
Biscuit Love puts a modern spin on biscuits, turning them to doughnuts or topping with chicken and gravy. Arnold’s Country Kitchen is a well-known “meat and three” establishment in Nashville. Bar Otaku has dishes inspired by California and the Caribbean, including rum cocktails, hearty bowls, and shared small plates.
Midtown/Vanderbilt

Midtown is another neighborhood with plentiful hotels, located alongside Vanderbilt University. Here visitors can tour the Parthenon, a replica of the Greek original contains in Centennial Park.
There are also restaurants. Hog Heaven has a walk-up window with picnic tables that has been open for over 25 years. On the other end of the spectrum is Avo, a vegan restaurant and cocktail bar.
Our Picks
After a number of visits to Nashville, we have a lot of suggestions in terms of the best hotels and properties around town. We have personally stayed in each of the below-mentioned properties.
Gaylord Opryland Resort

Located in northeast Nashville, the sprawling Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center centers around a glass atrium with an indoor river. It has meeting space, shops, and restaurants as well as incredible holiday decorations. Some rooms even have balconies.
The Inn at Opryland, A Gaylord Hotel is on the same campus, offering a more boutique experience with an indoor pool, fitness center, and shuttle to the other property. Both are right next to the Grand Ole Opry.
If You Like: convenience to shops and restaurants, complimentary parking
Other Features: Marriott Bonvoy points
