Clarksdale, Mississippi is known as ground zero for the blues, with more blues venues than anywhere else. Indianola, Mississippi, is a town of over 12,000 in the Mississippi Delta. It's a former Choctaw village that is now known as the home of legendary musician B.B. King. He has his own museum here, which displays information on his upbringing and rise to fame. Hernando, named for explorer Hernando De Soto who discovered the Mississippi River, is a town of 14,000 in Mississippi. The town includes a number of shops and restaurants, set around the square, where the De Soto County Courthouse is located. The Gateway to the Blues Museum opened in February 2015 in Tunica, Mississippi along the Mississippi Blues Trail. It serves as a true gateway to the blues trail, which starts in Memphis and runs through Clarksdale and onward to Vicksburg. The film Get On Up chronicles the early life of poverty to the rise to fame of soul singer James Brown, played by Chadwick Boseman. Dan Aykroyd, Viola Davis, and Octavia Spencer also star in the film. Mississippi stands in for areas like Augusta, Georgia, and New York.
