The tourist destinations of Chattanooga are much more than meets the eye. Although common sites for a school field trip or family outing, many have activities aimed at adults! We’re diving into a few of our favorites in the city with adult-focused programming.
Rock City

Cafe 7 (as in “See Seven States”) offers visitors craft beer and wine alongside stunning views right beside “Lover’s Leap.” Paired with local trout or catfish fingers, a meal atop the mountain is the perfect way to take in all Rock City has to offer.
At the end of the self-guided walk through Rock City, adult visitors are greeted with a tasting space from Georgia Winery. Visitors over 21 can sample the winery’s offerings from the Rhett or Scarlett to the Chattanooga Blush.
The winery is most famous for its sweet or semi-sweet offerings and bottles can be purchased on site. There is no better way to recover from Fat Man’s Squeeze than to enjoy a tasting atop the mountain.
Creative Discovery Museum

Chattanooga’s Creative Discovery Museum has regular “Drink and Discover” events. These 21 and up events allow for adults to enjoy the museum without their kids. Ticket price includes museum entry, light appetizers, and a souvenir cup. Drink tickets can be purchased in advance for a $1 savings.
Tennessee Aquarium

The Tennessee Aquarium is known nationwide for its huge collection of freshwater animals. The aquarium, which has been around since 1992 is constantly changing what it offers guests. This year, they introduced their first-ever Deep Brew Sea. This adult event allows visitors to enjoy the aquarium in the evening when families and school groups have left.
Local breweries and restaurants supply ample food and drink for guests while the live music keeps the party rolling. Beer and food stations are located throughout both the River Journey and Ocean Journey buildings. Multi-night events have sold out so don’t miss your next chance to enjoy the aquarium after dark.
Additionally, in 2018 the Tennessee Aquarium introduced its quarterly Aquarium After Hours events. These evening events alternate between Ocean and River Journey buildings and feature a seasonal theme, educational experiences, snacks, and a signature cocktail. See the Aquarium website for dates and details.
The Hunter Museum of American Art

The Hunter Museum of American Art’s annual Hand Crafted Wishes has been benefiting the Chattanooga Area Food Bank for three years now. Unlimited beer and food from local establishments ensure an unforgettable event.
Enjoy the terrace views while taking in the fantastic collection of American Art at this Chattanooga staple. What more can you ask for than a night with friends drinking and eating and benefiting the community?
Chattanooga Zoo

The Chattanooga Zoo holds regular “adult” events that allow visitors to enjoy the animals without the crowds. Events like Spirits in the Wild and Q ‘N Brew attract more than animal lovers. Visitors can sip on spirits, wine, or beer all while viewing some of the rarest species on earth.
Another fun event, the Beast Feast, focuses on the zoo’s collection of carnivores. Visitors sip on their beverage of choice while observing these larger animals enjoy their more “naturalistic” meal of choice.
